Despina’s book “Mr Raymond” was shortlisted for the Greek state’s novel
award 1986.

She got the first prize for her poem “Land of Ionia” in the Vraonia
Poetry festival in 2016

Her poem “Oblivion” was shortlisted for the Desmond O’ Grady
International poetry competition 2021.

Most recently, at the international competition for short story, and poetry by the Society of Greek Authors, 2023-2024, she received a special award for her short story, “A pigeon in the square”, and a special award for her poem “Memory”.
